AI agents

That’s certainly the next official improvement to the AI. We’ll see if it is working for AJE. I’m better understanding how they could work. My current hypothesis would define AI agents as guides to the AI toward some objectives with other attributes ( more or less aggressive behaviors for example….). Not yet sure of that…We’ll see soon. The agent would be moddable on the model of the regional decisions files.

We’ll know rather soon if I’m right, if it works.

Edit: confirmation: agent will be affected to leaders with a series of regions; then at last it will be possible to allow some leaders to remain in the same historical area (Think Price in Western Theater, or krasnov on Don…)…

    Excellent .
İt will be good for Rus and more historical.

    • Clovis says:

When and if it will be implemented in RUS…

Now this sytem has vertainly larger ambition:

-create a sort of understanding between a player and an Allied AI faction: you may set by events ( and then by options or regional decisions) objectives for the AI faction

      – vary the behavior of AI leaders ( a cautious Johnston, a mad Hood…)

      – try to regulate AI advance on the map

For the last, I’m waiting to read the parameters list. The biggest AI problem is its full ignorance of Line of supply concept…and a few other problems of the same magnitude.

Whatever, it should fit rather well as a new tool in my own AI events method.

      • Clovis says:

Progressing in my researches. I’m yet confused about the signification of ObjectiveRule, but the AI Agent should be able to pass over low cohesion or high losses reasons to relinquish offensive moves.

      • Clovis says:

BTW, this new feature, a very recent one, is certainly the sign next possible AGE game will yet use the old engine, either on its 2.0 or evil 3.0 (PON) specie…AACW2?Or WW2? WW2 would need an AI able to manage frontlines…NCP2 is excluded. So AACW2 could indeed be possible.

  2. Wargamer says:

Now that Ageod is alone again I suppose they need some cash, a civil war game is indeed very likely and Pocus suggested it.

  3. berto says:

The game most in need of a sequel is NCP. (And if a French gaming company can’t do Napoleon right, who else can?)

    • Clovis says:

Premepted by Paradox I suppose during the split. I guess there’s a sort of legal clausus cancelling any game of AGEOD on Napoleon for one to three years, maybe more.
