Current status of the 1.06 RC version of Fatal Years

Posted: December 12, 2011 in Rus Mod

The French faction isn’t anymore causing CTDs.

I’m now working on other bugs, ie a curious leak of money for Whites, the Promise Constituent Assembly option for Siberian which isn’t clickable, the French at Kherson event to improve. None is a gamebreaker howewer.

Next version is planned in the next days.

1 problem I’m still noticing. The IDL has never been displayed in any of my turns in either game. It’s either not working or the chance is way to low. The balancing on the Sibs has helped some. I’m only in early 1919 though.

Thanks. Will check this for the next version.

Fast response. The IDL seems to be working. I really tried to keep it low this game. 3 x reduce corruption. 1 x lower infighting? (whatever that option is that is really expensive). I’ve got much less penalties from IDL now. I just can’t see what the IDL is.

Balancing a game has to go the old way: ie playtesting it often with several players. Many computer wargames compaies have just dropped for sevral reasons this point, to the profit of Betatesting devolved to squash bugs ( and itself much less developped than it should considering the appaling release conditions of some… I could provide detailed and very informed recent examples 🙂 )

FY is yet in testing. That’s why reprots and remarks are precious to me. Thanks. Always on the work, as I don’t believe a game to be balanced without intensive betatesting, offcial version or not 😉

You will ASAP. That’s a key feature of FY. I’ve been forced to overcome the limitation of the GUI ( not a critic, but such a level isn’t integrated in the design of most of the AGE games ) to create at least 40 events, and linking such a number isn’t bulletproof by lack of real editor.
